PAWS for the Latest
January 2017 News & Events from Centre County PAWS

Welcome to 2017, <<First Name>>!

Cold noses, warm wishesWinter in Central Pennsylvania can be gray and bleak. If the weather is bringing you down, come visit Centre County PAWS to lift your spirits! We have so many wonderful, adoptable cats and dogs who would enjoy meeting potential adopters. They’re hoping that 2017 is their year to find a forever home.

One lucky dog did – Missy! Missy was an elderly lab mix who came to us from our friends at the Central PA Humane Society. Unfortunately, Missy was pretty clear that she disliked every potential foster dog sibling she met. When an approved foster family with a tiny Chihuahua showed up and asked to meet her, we were skeptical. Guess what - Missy loves the little dog! In fact, her foster family couldn’t bear the thought of separating the dogs and their children loved Missy too, so she’s now adopted. What a wonderful Happy Ending for Missy.

Our dogs and cats would like to experience a home of their own too. If you’ve been thinking about adopting a cat or dog, please make 2017 your year to adopt your new best friend! Visit our website at www.centrecountypaws.org to meet your new best friend.

Bailey Mae

Bailey Mae

"She's now Bailey Mae...we kept the Mae in honor of her origins at PAWS and her wonderful foster mother. She's doing so well...housebroken in 6 days and very well behaved...and spoiled. She loves everyone from adults to kids and other animals and they all love her too. She is so smart and has learned some cute tricks. Here's a picture in her Christmas sweater!"

Tarcin adopted from PAWS

Tarcin

Garfield was given the Turkish name Tarcin, which means Cinnamon in English:

"He has been doing very well. He seems very happy and friendly. I think he loves us, as we do love him. He is a new member of our family."

Volunteer Needs

VOLUNTEER NEEDS

We're looking for someone to help us with our group volunteer days. Groups will contact PAWS to do community service around the facility and we like to try to accommodate as many groups as possible. Currently we're doing two days a month on weeknight evenings. Please contact Catherine if you are interested or would like more information!

PAWSOME Kids

PAWSOME Kids!

PAWS salutes all the young people in our community who help our animals. Over the holidays, we received many letters – and gifts – from children at Houserville Elementary School. They created crafts and goods, and and sold them at their school. Many children chose to donate their proceeds to help our cat and dogs. Thank you so much to these students – and all these youngsters in our community – who care about helping shelter animals!
