The Changing Room Installation

By Mary Joyce

We saw Mary Joyce’s work at SkirtsAfire 2014 and now she has a beautiful new show at The Armoury. We encourage you to go see it in honour of Eating Disorder Week.

This exhibition arouses understanding and compassion for persons who struggle against food related compulsions, body dissatisfaction and weight change behaviours, aiming to alert families, and encourage them to seek help early.

Come and see it at the Edmonton Prince of Whales Armoury Heritage Centre, Mezzanine Art Wall, 10440-108 Ave, Edmonton

You Can't Keep a Good Woman Down Film Fest

Another great festival happening in conjunction with International Women’s Day! You Can’t Keep a Good Woman Down is a three-evening curated film festival, produced in partnership with the Metro Garneau Theatre.

Its aim is to promote women in the same spirit as the mandate of International Women’s Day, through art and activism. This festival highlights creativity, resiliency and advocacy. Films are about the challenges women have faced in the march toward equality.
