In the lead up to Dementia Awareness Week (beginning 21st September) IEPCP are promoting our resources from the Forest Hill Dementia Friendly Community project to support local businesses and communities to become more dementia-friendly.

National Mental Health Commission top ten mental health tips on how best to deal with the coronavirus pandemic has been translated into five languages. Join the national online conversation by watching, following, and sharing the practical tips and social media hashtag #InThisTogether.

New Mental Health Clinics in the EMR
On 17 August the Australian Government announced $26.9m of new funding to establish 15 dedicated mental health clinics across Victoria. There will be three clinics located in Eastern Melbourne PHN community. To stay informed of progress follow EMPHN on social media or check their website.
weVolunteer Portal launched
A new platform has launched to connect volunteers with Victorian organisations and businesses that need help. Volunteers can use the weVolunteer portal to register their skills and search for roles, while organisations can issue call-outs for volunteer assistance. The platform has been designed in partnership with Volunteering Victoria. Read the Premiers statement.
Cook Well Eat Well Stakeholder Kit
According to VicHealth data, 1 in 2 Victorians have been meal planning during the coronavirus pandemic, with 46% of Victorians doing so to save money. VicHealth and Nutrition Australia have created the Cook Well Eat Well website to support Victorian families. Resources are available to help you promote this website to communities.
Victorian Voices: communicating critical Covid19 public health information
ABC Melbourne and the Victorian Council of Social Services are producing new Facebook Live events: 'Victorian Voices'— communicating critical COVID-related public health and legal information into communities across Melbourne. This first session "Working during Covid-19" will be hosted by Raf Epstein and translated into Hindi, Arabic and Simplified Chinese.
Stand for Council Campaign
The MAV has launched the Stand for Council campaign which provides resources, information and Community Information Sessions on how to nominate and stand as a candidate for the council elections in October 2020. If you or someone you know are thinking of standing for council, sign up for a session today. Other resources available that specifically encourage women to stand are available from the Victorian Local Governance Association, and Its Our Time.
Victorian Human Rights Commission webinars: taking action on racisim for communities
The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission in collaboration with the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) have come together to run a series of information sessions to educate and empower multicultural and multifaith communities about racism, understanding your rights and taking action.

Health Communication during Covid19 Research
A team at La Trobe University are currently conducting research on the circulation, adaptation, and reception of COVID-19 health messages to CALD communities.They are seeking participants who have been involved in the process of selecting, adapting and circulating messages about COVID-19 in the CALD communities served by your organisation.
