Welcome to our new monthly news update. Our major event for January was successfully holding our Eighth Meeting of Partners in Kushiro, Japan. We had record attendance, record participation by Partners and active discussions around a number of issues. We also developed a combined Partner Work Plan for the first time. The success of the meeting was down to the superb hosting by Kushiro City and the active support of the Ministry of Environment of Japan.
In response to comments by Partners and the results of an interactive CEPA session during MOP8, we will put out a monthly news bulletin, of which this is the first, with links to recently posted information on the EAAFP website. In order for this to be more useful and informative, we seek input from Partners and others on events, information and updates on activities and news from Partner countries and organizations. This particularly applies to the calendar of events, so that readers can be aware of upcoming opportunities for potential cooperation throughout the Flyway.
Please provide us feedback on this first news bulletin, so that we can make subsequent bulletins more useful and interesting to our readership. Please also pass it on to other contacts and colleagues who may find it of relevance.
