Please participate - East Gippsland children's wellbeing survey
The purpose of this survey is to identify training that has previously been undertaken and to identify what the future training needs are in the following areas; Service Access, Children's Social and Emotional Wellbeing, Family Violence and Children with Additional Needs. 

Preventive Health Matters newsletter
This national newsletter provides up-to-date information about everything prevention and health promotion related including evidence based resources and best practice, professional development, training opportunities, webinars and peer discussion. Sign up using the 'register' button.

New opportunities

School and beyond - FRRR/Berry Street small grants
$1,500 grants are available to help keep students affected by bushfire in school or engaged in vocational education training and ultimately employment.Larger projects that support the engagement of young people into vocational education will be considered. Youth crime prevention grants
Grants of up to $200,000 to community partnerships to implement evidenced-based youth crime prevention strategies in areas of high crime and disadvantage.

Community Partnerships for Primary Prevention of Family Violence grants
$50,000-$150,000 grants available in lead up to the 2017 release of the Prevention of Family Violence Strategy.

Participation for CALD Seniors Grants Program
Funding for projects that help isolated people from CALD backgrounds connect with existing or new support networks and activities.

Natural Disaster Resilience Grants Scheme 
Grants to support projects leading to strengthening community resilience to natural disasters consistent with State risk profiles, and providing support to emergency management volunteers.

Free advertising through Google ad grants
Not available to health care services, government orgs or education settings.

Scholarships available - 100% free tuition through RMIT
Certificate III in Individual Support (with Disability Specialisation) or Certificate IV in Disability. These scholarships are designed to upskill employees prior to the NDIS.

VACCHO accredited training courses
Many courses are on offer across a range of health disciplines. 

Victorian Disability Awards
Applications close 24 March.

Ricci Marks Award
This award recognises the achievements and aspirations of young Aboriginal people in training, education, arts, sport, culture and community leadership. Nominations close Monday 6 March.

Australian Family Early Education & Care Awards 2017
These awards celebrate the dedication, tireless work and passion of the outstanding leaders and services within the sector and are open to individuals, teams and groups.

LGBTI people’s experiences of disaster & emergency management in Victoria 
Survey for LGBTI communities and/or people involved in the emergency management sector who have experienced an emergency.

Tender and grant application webinar series - Love your tender
This webinar series looks to uncover what not-for-profit organisations needs to know about effectively responding to government procurement processes. Four one-hour webinar sessions begin 15 February.

This service is suitable for all Victorians to subscibe to. Alerts are distributed for heat and other public health emergencies.

Heat - community resources
Information, posters and brochures to protect people from the impacts of extreme heat, and smoke from fires.

Child Safe Standards update - 1 January 2017
Resources are available to help organisations meet the updated standards.

A presentation on the Public Health and Wellbeing Outcomes Framework by Vikki Sinnott, Manager Public Health & Wellbeing Strategy at the Department of Health and Human Services was not presented at the local roadshow, however slides are available from another site.
