K-8 Registration for 2016-17
Application forms for the next school year are now available. This form and the $50 deposit (per child) must be returned by Friday, March 11 to receive a $100 credit toward registration. New students, as well as preschool students who will be going on to Kindergarten, will need to fill out the multi-page application form.  The enrollment right now looks as though we will continue to keep kindergarten as a self contained classroom, and then we will combine grades 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6, and 7 and 8. The BCE is working with the following guidelines for classroom aides and the possibility of splitting the classrooms:

Part-time Aide @ 20 Students
Full-time Aide @ 24 Students
Split the Classroom @ 28 Students

The sooner you register your child for next year, the sooner the BCE can make decisions on staffing the classroom for next year. Therefore, your help getting these registration forms back as quickly as possible is greatly encouraged and appreciated.  If you have any questions or comments about the plans for the 2016-2017 school year, please feel free to come speak with me.

In Christ,
Michael Peek

Thank You to Coach D.J. Miller, Jeff Weinstein, and Andrew McDunn for taking time out of their busy schedule to coach our Redeemer basketball teams. The students very much appreciate what they have learned while under their guidance.

As our basketball season has come to an end, please return any uniforms that you might have to Mr. Stam as soon as possible.
Our spring collection contest ends today.  This is the last day of the school year to get all of your Box Tops and Labels turned in so we can determine which classrooms collected the most Box Tops and the most Labels for Education this spring.
Thank you to everyone who has participated with these collection programs this school  year – each and every Box Top and Label really does make a difference.  A special "thank you" goes out to our sister congregations for their part in making the Box Tops and Labels for Education programs a success.
Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten Registration  It is time to register for next year’s classes! All applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis with Redeemer and WELS congregation members receiving first priority of acceptance. Your application will be processed on the date that we receive the $75 enrollment fee. If your child is currently attending our preschool you must still apply for next year!
Yearbook Coordinator Needed  For the past several years Cynthia Weinstein has been working with Lifetouch to create our yearbook each year, and we thank her for doing such a great job! She, however, has decided to pursue a career in nursing and is now enrolled in nursing school. Therefore, we are now in need of a volunteer who would be willing to take over for her and continue working on this year's yearbook. Cynthia will train whoever comes on board. If you are interested, please get in touch with Sally.

Thank You to our school students in grades 3-8 for beautifying our worship services with your voices this past Sunday.

Divine Call   A Divine Call was extended to Miss Leah L. Clark of Little Lambs Preschool in Lowell, AR to serve as a preschool teacher in the morning and help out with K-8 in the afternoon. Please keep her in your prayers as she considers where to continue serving the Lord in the teaching ministry.

Power Hour  Redeemer's Power Hour is starting back up for another session this February! For four weeks starting on Wednesday, February 17, families with children ages 2-5 are invited for a free hour of fun! Power Hour will start at 6:00 pm in room 304 with a Bible story, music, and crafts. At 6:30 p.m. parents are invited to "Power for Parenting" while children participate in different activities! Babysitting will be available for older siblings. Register HERE.

Art Fair  Redeemer will hold a school--wide Art Fair on Friday, February 19. We invite all families and congregation members to visit the Ministry Center from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. to see the displays of art projects that children have worked on throughout the school year. In addition, each classroom will have a project families can participate in to learn about a different art technique.

Teens in 3D  Teens will meet on Sunday, February 21 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the teen room. Questions? Contact Pastor Langebartels or Ben Weinstein (331-8714).

School Spelling Bee  On Thursday, March 3 in the Ministry Center grades K-8 will participate in a school-wide spelling bee. Some time before then, each classroom will conduct their own spelling bees to determine who will represent their class. The top two winners from each grade will then be invited to participate in the spelling bee at Arizona Lutheran Academy in Phoenix on Saturday, April 2.

LEGO Night will be held on Saturday, March 5 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. in the Ministry Center. Friends of Redeemer will be hosting a LEGO building competition for all ages and skill levels. The cost is $10 per participant. All funds raised will be used to support Christian education here at Redeemer. Look for a registration form coming home soon.

Midweek Lenten Worship  We have two opportunities at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday for five more weeks to center our attention on the last days and hours of Jesus’ life.  These services provide us with an excellent opportunity to once again be reminded of Jesus’ unfailing love for us and of the certainty of our forgiveness. A light supper will be held between services at 5:30 p.m.

Family Chapel

Family Chapel  Every Wednesday morning we start our school day by gathering the entire student body together for a chapel service. We want to encourage you to worship together as a family, so when you come to chapel please feel free to sit together. The theme for this year is “Living for Jesus.”

The theme is "Yielding to God's Purpose." It is based on Psalm 139:16.
Pastor Wayne Mueller will be our speaker.
Campus Visitors  For the safety of our children, if you are visiting our campus during school hours (8:00am to 3:30pm) Monday through Friday for reasons on than dropping off or picking up your kids, we ask that you sign in/out at the front office.

Chapel Offerings are collected in each classroom throughout the week and brought to Chapel on Wednesdays.

Field Trip Policy  If you intend on driving for a school field trip, please make sure the office has a copy of your current driver's license and insurance information.
The piano schedule is now full; however, you may still sign up to be on a waiting list. You may leave your name in the school office or contact Paula Schmugge at 405-7705.

Piano Lessons Students, please remember your books on lesson day!

Violin Lessons  If you are interested in violin lessons or have questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Turner (591-2860). Students, please remember your violins on lesson day!

SCRIP Gift Cards are exactly like store gift cards, and the retailer gives Redeemer a percentage of the sale. It's a great way to make your dollar go a little further! Look for Jen Watson, parent of Colton Watson (8th grade). Buy scrip gift cards and let your shopping help pay for next year’s tuition. Ask Jen how.

ALA's Scrip program is committed to helping our ALA families and Arizona WELS elementary students generate important dollars for their tuition accounts and for their schools and congregations. Read about how the ALA Scrip program assists the families in WELS Arizona schools.
