Clinical Trial Labels
Clinical trials are conducted to collect data regarding the safety and efficacy of new drug and device development. Clinical studies are randomized trials where one group of patients receives the experimental drug, while a second "control" group receives a standard treatment or placebo. Often these studies are "blinded" which means that neither the patients nor the researchers know who has received the experimental drug.

To keep all the data “blinded”, every patient is identified by a number. This number and the batch number can be printed both on a single label or, if more space is needed, on a booklet label too. The booklet label can be equipped with a tear off label that has to be printed with the same variable data of the booklet. The function of this tear off label is to trace all the process phases.

CCL identifies each label with a QR code. During the inspection phase a special camera reads this code. To assure that each number of the patient list is printed correctly, three different controls are done.
In the last few years Clinical trials have become increasingly complex and challenging. CCL has the experience, innovation and a dedicated team of label specialists and therefore is the reliable partner to choose for a wider and unique product portfolio and to offer a tailor made solution.
