2015 Summer Institute in Toronto a Success

IC-IMPACTS is proud to announce that its first Summer Institute was a great success! Held at the University of Toronto, 47 students from across Canada and India came together to learn about new research techniques in optical sensing, to gain new entrepreneurship skills, and to network with students, professors, and industry members. Stay tuned next week as in depth stories are released about the event.

Dr. Mira Johri (University of Montreal) and Dr. Jitendra K. Sharma (NHSRC Ministry of Health and Family) aim to improve child vaccination and immunization rates in India.

Dr. Thomas Hobman (University of Alberta), Dr. K. Barakat (University of Alberta) and Dr. Easwaran Sreekumar (Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology) all work together to create a better Dengue detection test using glycoprotein markers.

UPDATES
IC-IMPACTS in Ottawa at India-Canada S&T Meeting

IC-IMPACTS was present at the 5th India Canada Joint Science and Technology Cooperation Committee held in Ottawa on June 12, 2015. Co-chaired by Prof Ashutosh Sharma (Department of Science and Technology) and Ms Christine Hogan (Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development), IC-IMPACTS was proud to share successes from its Canadian and Indian collaborations, and help plan future collaborations between both nations in the coming years.

Collaborative research proposals submitted through the joint calls with Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and Department of Science and Technology (DST) have been reviewed. Announcements of successfully funded projects will be coming very shortly.
