Canada & India Invest $3.7 Million to Solve
Infrastructure & Water Challenges
IC-IMPACTS, the Department of Science and Technology, India (DST), and the Department of Biotechnology, India (DBT) have invested a total of $3.7 million to fund 9 research projects in the infrastructure and water sectors. With aging infrastructure and limited access to clean water across Canada and India, these research projects have the potential to significantly improve the lives of millions of people in both nations.
IC-IMPACTS 2015 Graduate Summer Institute Advancing Knowledge and Inspiring Entrepreneurship
IC-IMPACTS hosted its inaugural Summer Institute in Toronto, Ontario in June 2015, focusing on optical sensing technologies spanning infrastructure, water, and public health fields.
Over the course of the week-long program, students learned cutting-edge research techniques from leading experts in the optical sensing field, viewed demonstrations to show how these research techniques are applied in community contexts, and presented their own scientific research. In addition, students were challenged to think about how their own research could directly benefit communities and society.
IC-IMPACTS is proud to be sponsoring BEFIB 2016, the 9th RILEM International Symposium on Fibre Reinforced Concrete. Abstracts can now be submitted to the conference website by no later than August 30, 2015.
