5 NEW PROJECTS FUNDED IN GREEN BUILDING SECTOR
IC-IMPACTS and the Department of Science and Technology, India (DST) have successfully funded 5 new research projects in the smart and green buildings sector.
Buildings are responsible for about one-third of total global greenhouse gas emissions and 40% of all energy consumption. Together, the scientific and industrial communities of Canada and India seek to devise clean technologies and novel approaches to create more sustainable infrastructure
These new projects provide a continuing platform for bilateral academic and industry collaborations that will create new market pathways and improve the lives of Canadian and Indians.

AGM REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Mark your calendars, the 2017 IC-IMPACTS Annual General Meeting takes place on March 2, 2017 at 1pm (PST).
This AGM is a technical meeting that will be held in Vancouver, Canada at the UBC Campus. The IC-IMPACTS Annual Research Conference (usually held in tandem with the AGM) will be held as a separate two-day event later this year on June 9-10, 2017 (details to follow).
Registration for the AGM is free - if you haven't registered already please register today! For those interested in participating from out of town, a teleconference link will also be made available.

2017 KHARE SCHOLARSHIP NOW OPEN
The 2017 Pradeep Khare Memorial Scholarship is now open and is accepting applications until March 3, 2017!
The scholarship provides financial assistance of up to $2500 for international students from India who are studying at a Canadian Institution and is awarded to a student who demonstrates leadership, drive, and academic excellence.

DEMONSTRATE YOUR TECHNOLOGY IN THE FIELD
Canadian and Indian researchers who are ready to demonstrate their technology are invited to apply to the Innovative Technology Demonstration Projects Initiative.
Researchers can receive up to $45,000 to assist in final-stage technology refinement, technology adoption, and deployment costs.

LEARN INNOVATIVE RESEARCH IN DISEASES & GLOBAL HEALTH
IC-IMPACTS has partnered with McGIll to support the McGill Summer Institute in Infectious Diseases and Global Health.
The program features courses on Tuberculosis Research Methods, Bioinformatics for Parasitic Diseases, Global Health Diagnostics, and more.
Applications are now open! Participants requiring a travel visa need to apply by Feb 28, 2017.

ATTEND A CAFE SCIENTIFIQUE
IC-IMPACTS students are hosting Cafe Scientifique, a forum to discuss current scientific issues in a casual setting. The events will be held on Wednesday January 25 in both Edmonton (Good Earth Coffee House) and Montreal (Cafe Imagination).
IC-IMPACTS students and HQP are invited to join, share their project experiences, and network with other students!

HQP WEBINAR: SCRUM 101

Scrum is an project management approach that helps cross-functional and self-organizing teams to respond to unpredictability through incremental, iterative work cadences and empirical feedback.
This Webinar will be hosted by Md Nesar Khadem, an an IC-IMPACTS alumnus and UBC graduate who worked on a water filtration project for small/remote communities in India and Canada.
