As the Team continue to learn the bike, we arrived at Silverstone with a few replacement parts having learned they were worn.
Both Friday Free Practice sessions went well considering Asher was on tyres that were heavily 'graining'.
Q1 was a wet session which proved very testing for the Team, as the bike had never been run in the wet. Due to bike issues Asher had to enter pit lane three times for changes to the bike. Eventually complaining of a misfire.
By the end of the session Asher only had two 'flying' laps. So to put the bike on the third row of the grid was a great result. Unfortunately Q2 was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, as we felt Asher would have improved his qualifying place for sure.
During the race Asher battled long and hard with the front runners, including the eventual Moto3 Champion. Finishing 6th overall and 4th in class. A mere 0.026 of a second from a 3rd place rostrum, and 0.249 from 2nd place!
Asher is looking for funding finance the final round of the year in two weeks time at Brands Hatch GP 17th - 19th October. If you can help then please contact us here
"It was a great race, even better than Doningtons rostrum finish. To be battling with the front runners was amazing and I learnt a lot from that. Thanks to Sara, Chris, dad, and all friends and family that came along to support me."
