New Name.
 Not sure if you noticed but Hickory Real Estate Group is now Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Foothills. This new national brand identity allows our agents and clients access to the tools and content of real estate’s only lifestyle brand, combined with the local real estate focus everyone is accustomed to with us.
To help celebrate, we are giving away a free issue of this Better Homes & Gardens Magazine featuring Dolly Parton on the cover. Stop by our office the first week of January from 10am-2pm to get a copy until we run out.
There will be a lot more information on the new brand to come in the coming months including a new website and some new ways for our agents to keep in touch. We will also be planning a ribbon cutting soon, so be on the lookout for that.
New Year!
With a new year comes some new predictions….2022 was a year of two halves. The first half was super hot with buyers taking advantage of the low interest rates and buying everything that they could. The second half slowed down abruptly due to skyrocketing interest rates. The number of units sold was down over 20% in the second half. Pricing has held up for the most part so far, but the big price increases have kind of fizzled out.
We expect the first part of the year to continue to be a little slow but as more homes come on the market as they generally do in the spring the volume should hopefully pick up. The biggest issue we still have is not enough inventory. There are still buyers out there so if you are thinking of selling the smart play may be to get your home on the market in January or February while there is not a lot of competition.  The last few years have been tough for buyers with the lack of choices. One nice option for a slower market is that buyers might have some more homes to choose from as the inventory hopefully goes up this spring.
