Wednesday: Movie Nights Launch With "Little Fugitive"

Friends of Elizabeth Street Garden begins a third summer season of FREE movie screenings in the Garden Wednesday. These are family-friendly events where neighbors can come out and meet one another for a great time. The Garden will remain open through the evening, so come early, cool down, bring a blanket, picnic, cozy up and sink in!

Movie Night: "Little Fugitive" (1953) —
Wednesday, July 1, Dusk (approx. 8:30 p.m.)
"'Little Fugitive' is the story of a 7-year-old boy named Joey (Richie Andrusco) who runs away to Coney Island after being tricked into thinking he’s killed his older brother Lennie (Rickie Brewster). Joey’s adventures and Lennie’s search for his lost little brother make for a charming adventure that chronicles 1950's New York in perfect detail. From the view under the boardwalk to a summer storm that clears the beach, Engel’s camera never fails to register the moments that create a magical atmosphere."
