Our new film hits the festival circuit!

After screening at the Havana Film Festival and opening the UN Association Film Festival, our newest short is out!

"They Say I'm Your Teacher" celebrates the birth of the 1950s Citizenship Schools and the work of Septima Clark, Esau Jenkins, Bernice Robinson from John's Island, South Carolina and Myles Horton of Highlander Center.

The short will screen at three festivals this weekend: the UN Women Festival in Sarasota called Through Women's Eyes, where the film will be represented by doc filmmaker and archival research genius Malkia K Lydia; the XVII Festival Internacional de Documentales Santiago Álvarez in Memoriam held in Santiago de Cuba, where the film will be represented by Cuban-American liberation educator José Pérez; and the Cinequest Festival in Northern California. Come out to see us!

Screening times for Cinequest here.

  • Richmond VA Film Festival (April 21-26)
  • 10th Charlotte Black Film Festival (April 23 - 26)
