Tylan Green is a walking miracle and proof positive that no weapon shall prosper. Born prematurely, doctors declared that Tylan had developmental delays that would hinder his life. However, God's declaration over this amazing child has disproved every doctor's decree. Though they said Tylan would have speech issues, Tylan is a terrific conversationalist. Though they said he would have delays with movement, Tylan is an instrumentalist, playing trombone, trumpet, keyboard, and drums. Though they said he would have dexterity complications, Tylan is an artist and cartoon illustrator with a unique eye for movement.
Watching Tylan flourish under God's anointing is nothing short of breathtaking! He epitomizes the conqueror in all of us and we are ecstatic to see the miraculous things God will continue to do with our September member of the month.
The fight for reparations has stalled in Congress.
Here's what they look like in state and local
Louis Weathers had a stable job and was married when he decided to buy a home in the Chicago suburb of Evanston in 1959 -- but high interest rates and White real estate agents who seemed adamant about keeping him and other Black residents out of certain neighborhoods nearly discouraged him.
More than six decades later, the 87-year-old received a payout to make up for the discriminatory housing practices that he and other Black residents experienced between 1919 and 1969.
After three years in the making, Evanston gave Weathers and 15 other Black residents $25,000 each in May to put toward a down payment on a home, mortgages or home repairs.
Like Weathers, generations of Black Americans have faced disparities in housing, transportation, business and other areas. And as descendants of enslaved people many say they have not been compensated for their labor and the lingering effects of systemic racism.
The Biden-Harris Administration's Student Debt Relief
What does it mean and do you qualify?
Student loan debt forgiveness is approved, up to $20,000 per borrower.
Last month, President Biden, Vice President Harris, and the U.S. Department of Education announced a three-part plan to help working and middle-class federal student loan borrowers transition back to regular payment as pandemic-related support expires. This plan includes loan forgiveness of up to $20,000. Individuals earning less than $125,000 per year and married couples or heads of households earning less than $250,000 per year are eligible for the debt cancellation. Many borrowers and families may be asking themselves “what do I have to do to claim this relief?”

The Church Isn’t Closed For Summer
As summer gets into full swing, many churches offer fewer events like Bible studies and weekly kids’ programs. This is just part of the busy season of vacations, weddings, grad parties, and more.
But, the Church itself doesn’t close for summer. God’s still working in and through his people. Many are still in need of the gospel. Fellowship is as valuable as ever (even if it takes place in backyards for a time).
During the summer break from typical ministry routines, here are some flexible, doable ideas for building up the body of Christ.
It seems that time really does fly when you're having fun! As difficult as it is to believe, we are right in the middle of 2022 and facing a much needed evaluation of our goals and objectives for the year. For the believer, single or otherwise, this crucial time can best be spent evaluating the status of our relationship with Christ and one another. The timely topic of examining yearly physical and spiritual goals was the subject of one of this month's SAS sessions held on Mondays via Zoom.
The evening began with an engaging Would You Rather quiz. Afterwards, Dea-Elect Thomas Green and Deas. Trunaé Green encouraged the attendants to closely examine any progress or failure made during the year in our physical and spiritual goals by noting what was learned, redefining failure as feedback, and repeating the process as needed. Dea-Elect Thomas Green ended the evening by pointing out that we need to recommit to Christ daily in order to stay on the spiritual path. With that, the evening concluded.

Monkeypox: What to Know
Monkeypox is a viral disease from the same family as smallpox, though its symptoms usually aren't as serious. It can spread from person to person through close contact. Someone who's infected with it can pass it to you through:
Contact with monkeypox lesions on their skin (including inside their nose and mouth)
Contact with body fluids like blood or semen
Respiratory droplets that you breathe in
Things that have touched infected body fluids, like bedding or clothing (This happens less often.)
There's no specific treatment for monkeypox. The U.S. has two vaccines to prevent smallpox: ACAM2000 and JYNNEOS (Imvamune, Imvanex). For more information, follow the link below.
As we still bask in the new year, this is a great time to designate your "reading spot"! Now I know you are probably wondering, 'what is a reading spot'? Simply put, it's a place you have created to get cozy behind a book. It is the spot you have created just for reading. This month I am sharing 4 Tips on creating the perfect reading spot!
1. Your reading spot should be in a quiet place. This may be a place in your home, such as a corner in a room, the closet, or even the garage. It can also be a place outdoors. Find what works for you!
2. Once you have chosen the space, make it cozy. You want your area to feel warm and inviting. Adding a few throw pillows, a throw blanket, and a nice rug can help create that comfortable space. You can even add a comfortable chair or bean bag. Choose what works best for you.
3. Next, put your favorite books and current reads in that space. It will help remind you that it is your reading spot, and you'll always know where to find your recent books.
4. Lastly, grab your favorite drink, head to your reading spot, and start reading!
Do you have a reading spot? And if not, did you find these tips helpful? Let me know! Please email me at email@example.com. As always, Happy Reading!
Last month, the Couples Are Partners Marriage Ministry went on a joyous and righteous voyage to the fabulous city of Las Vegas, Nevada. Although the “Sin City” is known for its less than godly behavior, the CAP couples brought plenty of light and love to share!
The four day event included a meet and greet, two full workshop days, and abundant time to retreat and reflect. The hot table topics included forgiveness, communication, and intimacy with impactful demonstrations for each topic.
The catered food was great, but not as delicious as the timely lessons shared by CAP Facilitators, Bishops Alfred T. & Rosemary Lands. Several members of the Single and Satisfied Ministry also came along to provide childcare for couples who brought their children with them for this exciting vacation.
Each couple received a certificate of completion/commitment and a beautiful gift for attending and finishing the retreat. This annual event reached an entirely new height and the CAP team plans to take it even higher next year!
Follow us @couplesarepartners to find out where we will journey to next!
We're Back in Georgia!! CAPS will meet Saturday, September 3rd at 7PM.
You DON'T want to miss this! You're in for a treat!
BBMs Celebrate FLMBC's 26th Anniversary!
For our 26th church celebration, Genesis wanted to bless Family Life with several gifts to highlight our past memories and to create some new ones. Therefore, our group blessed the church with a 600 photo capacity album for all members to add pictures from years past. We also blessed the church with an outdoor movie projector to compliment the outdoor movie screen that we purchased for our last celebration.
S.O.S(Sold Out Servants) chose to highlight our music ministry this August. We were blessed to gift our church with personalized Congo Bags in 8 different sizes. In addition, we were able to bless our wonderful Music Ministry with a sponsored meal from Chipotle.
During this year of celebration in the month of August at the Historical Family Life Church The JAS Family was blessed to have a week to in turn be a blessing to the ministry. During the course of that week JAS was able to send personal thanksgiving messages to our Bishops for not backing out in year 2. We celebrated with Bishop-Elect Vance and his church Family on Tuesday night worship service. We showered our Bishops with a token of our love. We were able to get our sanctuary carpet deep cleaned and sanitized and we were able to get over 100 chairs cleaned and sanitized in our sanctuary. Needless to say JAS had a wonderful week serving the ministry.
Omega Warriors brought up the rear in the Family Life Church celebration. The group reminded all the members through video of several “Warrior Moments” of triumph that has made the difference in all of our lives. Also, as a blessing to the Family Life M.A.N.N.A. Food Bank, Omega purchased Chick-fil-A boxes for the volunteers. For the finale, Omega is having purple carpet installed in the newly constructed drum booth in the sanctuary.
The Birthday Blessing Ministry (BBM) of Family Life MBC serves as a way to engage each church member through small groups centered around their birth month.
There are 4 BBMs: Genesis (January, February, March) Sold Out Servants(April, May, June) Jesus Anointed Soldiers(July, August, September) Omega Warriors(October, November, December)
All of our Birthday Blessing Ministry groups continue to do a bang up job helping all members become fully engaged in ministry life.
