Aquaponics combines aquaculture (production of fish in tanks) and hydroponics (growing plants in a soilless medium). Coupling the two systems means that water, nutrients and CO2 are all used in a cycle. The project INAPRO is working on this new technique to improve conditions for the fish and the plants. Read more.
