Info day: Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 2
calls for proposals 2015


A chance to get first-hand information on the up-coming call for proposals for Societal Challenge 2: Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine and maritime and inland water research and the Bioeconomy

Registration is now open for this event which was announced in our last newsletter. It is organised by the European Commission and focuses on Horizon 2020's Societal Challenge 2. This covers three calls for proposals under which projects can apply for funding:
  • Sustainable Food Security, Agriculture and Forestry
  • Blue Growth
  • Innovative Sustainable and Inclusive Bio-economy
The provisional programme is available here. As well as looking at the specific call topics through presentations in the morning and during three thematic breakout sessions in the afternoon, you will find out more about the evaluation process (financial and legal aspects), the involvement of SMEs, communication issues and questions concerning international cooperation.

Attending the Info Day is free of charge but registration is compulsory. Participation will be considered on a “first come, first served” basis. Horizon 2020, more information

Horizon 2020 is the largest source of public funding for research and innovation from the European Commission and it has a budget of around €4 billion for the societal challenge 2 on “Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine, maritime and inland water research and the bioeconomy.” It will run from 2014 to 2020. Horizon 2020 calls are open to any legal entity, including applicants from outside the EU.

EIP-AGRI has prepared an EIP-AGRI brochure 'Funding opportunities under Horizon 2020 - Calls 2015' outlining the main funding opportunities linked to Agricultural productivity and sustainability in Horizon 2020.
