Time to Celebrate!

Thank you to our teachers, administrators, arts organizations, teaching artists, families and students who joined forces with us this year and embraced our vision to bring high quality arts education and experiences to students in Sarasota County. We are grateful to be a part of a community that works together and collaborates.  We can't wait to start the 2018-2019 school year and continue our growth. Have a wonderful summer!

Students at Atwater Elementary demonstrating their learning through Arts Integration
Students at The Ringling

After a successful professional development opportunity for our teachers at The Ringling in March, students had a chance to visit the grounds and experience the art collection of the museum while being guided by their teachers and museum staff. Teachers were able to apply what they learned as facilitators of visual thinking strategies and find opportunities to connect works of art with the curriculum. After these immersive experiences at the museum, students were able to continue applying their understanding of reading art at the Embracing Our Differences Art Exhibit at Bayfront Park.

Teaching Artist Melanie Rick

Kennedy Center teaching artist and co-founder of Focus 5, Melanie Rick, consulted with the Any Given Child Sarasota team early May to help plan and strategize the future of arts integration in Sarasota County Schools. The team had the opportunity to observe and meet with teachers, administrators and leaders in the district, as well as community partners to design a framework for arts integration that aligns with current national and district instructional practices. With Melanie's insight we were able to brainstorm the next phase of our project. We are very excited to keep growing while deepening and broadening our impact. Stay tuned!
