The Florida District NYI
I write this, my last newsletter article as NYI President, with mixed emotions. This is July and it’s the month when we celebrate our Annual NYI Convention! I love that we have moved this important event to the week when we are all together at camp. This move allows so many of our students that were never able to attend before the opportunity to now be a part of making decisions about what the ministry, intended for them, will look like in the coming year.
So, this year we will be enjoying a lot of new things while we gather together for our convention. We have a new District Superintendent for one thing! And, I’m really excited about what Pastor Dale Schaeffer will bring to us as he brings new leadership to The Florida District office. I’m also really excited about the new leadership that will begin leading our NYI this coming year!
This is why I have mixed emotions. I have enjoyed leading the NYI Ministries of The Florida District these last 5 years and I will miss having a hand in all the things NYI does. But I know it’s time for me to step aside and let other very well qualified leaders take over. They have already begun to brainstorm some new thoughts that I’m sure you will very much enjoy!
I am also excited to be celebrating new leadership in our Summer Sacred Life Camp. Over the last few years we have experienced some big changes and this new leadership has ideas that I believe will make everyone more interested in attending camp. If you’re not signed up yet, make sure you get on thefloridanyi.com
today and get that done!
In the Message we read, ““Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.”
(Isaiah 43:18-19). I see these changes in our District leadership in the same way I see this passage: God is moving us in new and exciting ways as He leads us to bigger, better things! It’s my prayer that each of you who read this note will find a new, more lively experience with Jesus each day as you walk close to Him.
I will be praying for you and the leadership as we step into the new things God is showing us!
