Graphic design: Florence Corriveau-Paradis

Montreal, May 11th, 2022 -  perte de signal presents SYNTHONE, a project of sonic performances and broadcasts in public space, in collaboration with TOHU.

SYNTHONE is first and foremost a project in urban phonography and live broadcasting of audiographic works in the public space. On the evenings of Friday May 27th and Saturday May 28th, artists Anne-F Jacques, Florence-Delphine Roux, Gabrielle HB, Claudette Lemay, and Vivian Li will hold sound performances based on sounds recorded in Frédéric-Back Park and/or in interaction with its environmental and sonic conditions, broadcasted live on radio stations.

The deployment of wave tuners dispersed in the park with broadcasting on short waves will allow differentiated listening and perception according to the movements of the listeners and passers-by. The audience is invited to bring their own shortwave radio to be able to tune in to listen to the performances!

Also, from noon on May 28th, the audience is invited to come with their loved ones (young or old) for a sound picnic in the open air in a relaxed atmosphere.
In addition, SYNTHONE carries out a mediation component with listening and creative activities for scholar groups from primary and secondary schools in the neighborhood (Marie-Rivier primary school, John F. Kennedy High School and the Joseph-François-Perreault francophone high school).

Recordings of the performances will be available on June 3rd, 2022 on
SYNTHONE's bandcamp page.
This project is made possible thanks to the support of Conseil des arts et des lettre du Québec.
