We want to thank everyone who participated in the first East Bay Walk to Work Day that we hosted with California Walks and Transition Berkeley on April 3.
In downtown Oakland, downtown Berkeley and on the UC campus we gave out stickers and treats to hundreds of pedestrian commuters.
A big thanks to our sponsors, the Downtown and Lake Merritt/Uptown Associations, AC Transit, the Berkeley Climate Action Coalition, Alameda CTC, Farley’s East and the City of Oakland.
If you’d like to find resources about walking to work for workers and employers, go to the website, WalkToWorkDayEastBay.com. Let’s do it again next year!

You may know that we have seriously stepped up our game on Oaklavia, Oakland's one and only Open Streets program. Oaklavia has proven its ability to catalyze community support and to bring pride and love to our neighborhoods by temporarily diverting auto traffic to provide car-free, carefree streets so that YOU can come out and play.
Oaklavia planning is swinging into high gear right now to fund raise for TWO events:
Saturday, July 12 2014: The Golden Gate Neighborhood in North Oakland is partnering up with the City of Emeryville to Bring Oaklavia to San Pablo and Doyle Street
Sunday, September 14 2014: We repeat the the wildly successful Love our Lake Day around Lake Merritt.
Be one of the first to sign up to support the events. We must raise $90,000 to bring the best and safest Oaklavias to you. Ready? Sign on Now
