WHAT'S THE WORD ON THE STREET?

BIKE CAMPING: HELLA AWESOME

Our Ride Like a Girl Bike Camping trip with Bike East Bay in late June was a resounding success! The destination was Coyote Hills Regional Park in Fremont with over 30 cyclists of all ages choosing from several routes ranging between 7 flat miles to 44 hilly miles.  The weather cooperated beautifully and a good time was had by all. (And maybe some sore muscles too.)
BIKE TO WORK DAY 2019

On May 9 over four thousand Oakland bicyclists participated in the biggest cycling event of the year.  An estimated 800 bike commuters (including five City Council members and the Oakland A's mascot Stomper!) converged on Frank Ogawa Plaza for words of encouragement from OakDOT's Ryan Russo and others and get repairs at the Fix-It Station along with free coffee and a scrumptious pancake breakfast.  A whopping 20 bike-friendly agencies and business tabled at the event including AC Transit, Bay Trail Project and Ford Go-Bike.  We'll see you out there next year!
