"Howling Wolf Tree"
Well 2016 has gone by pretty sharpish, hasn't it!
One of the main goals I set myself at the beginning of the year was to sign with a good gallery in London and I'm very pleased to report that I did in fact manage to achieve it with one month to spare! I am now a GALLERY-REPRESENTED ARTIST (and I must say the words roll around the tongue much like a good vintage Châteauneuf-du-Pape ...). More below, with details of an upcoming Christmas Fair at the Gallery and an invitation to the Private View on the 15th, as well as a 10% discount voucher.
Anyway, I hope that the year has brought you many wonderful things too, and if it hasn't yet then remember it isn't over until you hear those cheesy New Year's concerts being piped from Vienna ...
Gabriel Fine Art Gallery
Last month I signed with Gabriel Fine Art Gallery on the Isle of Dogs in the Docklands part of London. They will act as the exclusive agent for five of my pictures: "Ode to Mortality", "Snowdrop in Melting Frost", "Ockham's Apocalypse", "Before the Storm, Bamburgh, Northumberland", and "Sunrise, Capel Curig, Snowdonia" (pictured below). You can view my profile on the Gallery's website. Any queries relating to these images should be directed to the Gallery.
From 9-20 December (i.e. starting this coming Friday) there will be a Christmas Fair at the Gallery with a special event on Thursday the 15th. Three of my pictures will be featured in the Fair. Full details can be found on the Gallery's website and there is also a voucher for 10% off all art purchases during the Fair. Please RSVP to Maria at the Gallery if you would like to attend the PV on the 15th.
Windsor Contemporary Art Fair & Raffle Winners
I had my most successful art fair to date at Windsor last month and I would really like to thank everyone who came to support me and those who entered my raffle to win one of five of my calendars for next year. The winners have been informed by email. (If you were one of the winners and you haven't yet received your calendar then please let me know.)
I have just received a new batch of calendars so if you'd like to order one then you can do so via my online shop.
I can now confirm details of the photography experiences I will be offering this month and during the course of next year:
- Deer Photography Safari — 18th December
- City of London architecture photography day (with evening cityscapes) — 8th January
- Jurassic Coast photography long weekend — 17-20th March
- Denbies Wine Estate — 14 May (should hopefully be good for bluebells)
- Northumberland photography long weekend — 16-19th June
- British Wildlife Centre — 5th October
As I mentioned in my last newsletter I am planning a trip to the Lake District between Christmas and New Year, so if you are feeling brave and would like to join me then please let me know. This opportunity is exclusive to my Newsletter subscribers; I won't be listing this experience on my website but it is likely to involve a two night stay in the Nether Wasdale area at an all inclusive price of £600 per person.

African Safaris in 2017 & 2018
Great Migration Safari — 15-23 September 2017
I am very excited to report that I can confirm details of my Great Migration Safari in Kenya next year. The Safari will take place from 15-23 September. We will spend the first night in the Boma Hotel in Nairobi before flying by small aircraft to the Mara Bush Camp (our main luggage will follow by car). The Mara Bush Camp is ideally situated for photographers as we are able to manoeuvre to any area of the Migration very easily. Accommodation will be in luxury tents. We will spend six full days in the Maasai Mara photographing the Great Migration and there will be ample time for photography tuition.
The total cost of the Safari will be $7,000 (USD) per person in exclusive sharing of a tent with three persons per 4x4 vehicle, so everyone has opportunities to shoot from both sides of the vehicle.
The price includes:
- Photography tuition
- Transport in a 4x4 vehicle during the entire Safari
- Water in the vehicles during the drives
- Park fees in the Mara
- Accommodation on full board (except Nairobi which is bed and breakfast)
- A return ticket to the Mara via small aircraft (15 kg weight limit, main luggage to follow by car)
- Evacuation insurance
- All transfers
Not included are:
- International flights
- Travel insurance
- Drinks (apart from water in the safari vehicles)
- Items of a personal use.
Places will be limited to eight (8). This is an absolutely spectacular adventure so please let me know asap if you would like to join us.

South Africa — August 2018
I am planning a 14 day Safari to South Africa in August 2018 to photograph the West Coast wildflowers and the big cats (and meerkats) in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. The Park provides some of the best big cat photography available anywhere in the world. The total cost of the Safari including international flights from the UK is estimated to be in the region of £4,950. Not bad for a lifetime of extraordinary memories! Places will be extremely limited and we need to book far in advance, so if you are interested to join me then please RSVP as soon as possible.
