Church Plant Update:

Pray with us as we want to help those who gather at BFF each week to understand the purpose and vision more clearly.  Pray we can adequately convey the truth of what church is, and how we can continue in God's will for this group in a meeting we hope to have with everyone soon.

December Highlights

Christmas is always a GREAT time to share the Gospel with the Japanese and this year was no different.  We had local concerts and a short trip to Osaka.  We also had some BFF events with the Christmas theme that brought guests and seekers alike.  I hear news that one newcomer/seeker is professing faith in Jesus to another BFF member!  Praise God!  Please pray that all the seeds that were planted this Christmas season will be watered and GROW!

We are so excited to get started on this New Year and all that it will bring.  You may have noticed you didn't receive a December newsletter and that is due to our busy schedules plus the sickness we experienced at the end of the month and through the New Year holiday.  Marla especially was hard hit with the flu and was down for a good week, but dealt with symptoms for a few more weeks after that.  Thank you for always prayer for our health, the Lord truly blesses us in giving us bodies that fight off disease.  All clinics and hospitals were closed for the New Year holiday but we all fought off the sickies and continue to be grateful for life and health!  This month was full of many chapel services and our regular ministry activities.  We are thankful for all that the Lord is doing, including one young man who is ready for baptism, and one more newcomer who I heard has professed faith in Jesus!  We will be following up on our BFF member who led her to Christ, and hopefully move towards celebrating a couple of baptism in the early part of this year!!!

Spring is around the corner...

The spring season is quickly approaching and in Japan that is the beginning of the new school year and the new fiscal year for everything.  We are excited to announce that Hana was admitted into the private christian school, Baiko Jr. and Senior High in Shimonoseki.  Our late winter season will be spent preparing for her to enter school.  She will need uniforms (wow, the cost is mind blowing to me!), an iPad, and will immediately embark on a three week exchange student trip to the Philippines for intensive English immersion with her class after school begins in April.  Of course Hana doesn't need the English immersion but it will be a wonderful time of bonding and team building for her small class, and a chance to start learning independence and personal responsibility (which is an area she is already quite mature because of all the travel experience she has already had).  We are excited for this new season for her and our family but it will also mean some major adjustments.  Her commute every morning and evening will be about one hour each way by train and bus.  She will need to take her lunch to school each day and of course the academic load will most certainly be a lot more than she is used to.  Homeschool up until now has been almost all in English except for daily Japanese language writing and reading, and twice a week time with a Japanese tutor.  Now almost all of her academic education will be in Japanese while her English education will also be supported by the school at her advanced level.  The school is very adept at supporting International students, and bilingual students who need extra support in Japanese so we feel sure she will thrive.  However it will be a big adjustment for all of us.  And of course when we travel now, it will most likely only be Rocky, Marla, and Kai, unless our travels fall during a school holiday.  Rocky's parents and our BFF family are generously offering to have Hana in their homes when we are gone so we know she will be well taken care of.  Please pray for us through this time.  Most of all that Hana's faith and emotional health will be strengthened by the Lord in this big life change.  Pray for Mom and Dad as we adjust to all of the changes this brings to our daily lives and our parenting.  Also pray for Kai as he will have to adjust to homeschooling alone each day and being without his favorite person to pester, I mean, hang out with all day.

CD project...

Rocky's current CD project in the studio with Omiya Kaori is nearing the final stages.  Praise the Lord!  Please pray for protection over it as there is an enemy who seems to be trying to drum up tricks as a barrier to the project.  I can not tell you all how amazing this CD is going to be.  It will be a powerful album of music for worship and to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Pray for last stage recording, mixing, mastering, CD jacket design, and final publishing of the CD!  And of course pray that every single copy will be a testimony of the Savior who inspired these amazing songs, their writer, and her faith.

With all our Love,
The Aroma Team
