Cherry blossoms have come and gone, a new fiscal year has begun, and we are excited to see how God works in this new year (and new era in Japan, the Reiwa Era beginning with the crowning of a new emporer next month).

Church Plant Update:

BFF is enjoying attendance in the 30s on a regular basis.  This last week alone we worshiped in 3 languages with 35 people, and in attendance were people from Malaysia, China, Korea, Taiwan, America, Ukraine, Russia, and of course Japan!

We spent three weeks in the US in February and it was such a blessing!  We were only on the West Coast, with a quick stop in Arizona, and mainly went because we were invited to lead worship at a conference in Seattle called Reaching the Japanese for Christ!  This was our second time at an RJC conference and it is always incredibly encouraging.  Thanks to all who hosted us and helped support the trip by giving us an opportunity to minister and serve with you.  Our next trip to the US should be another deputation trip possibly in 2020 or 2021?!

Church plant and other ministry...

BFF continues to grow and flourish.  We are averaging in attendance ALMOST 30!  What a blessing as we enter our 7th year.  After School Klub just kicked off its sixth year of reaching out to elementary students and their families.  Tuesday Night Bible study also continues to minister to seekers and believers on the other side of town.  The new school and fiscal year begins in Japan in April, and during this coming year we will minister in chapel services at 3 local Christian schools!  We also look forward to lots of concert invitations, some on the calendar already.  What an honor to be so busy sharing the Gospel with the Japanese.

Iwate mission trip...

We were invited to do a special concert for the One Year opening anniversary at a cafe run by a missionary to the tsunami devastate region of Iwate prefecture.  It was a joy and privilege to go and encourage the missionaries and locals in this area where so many coastal towns were completely devastated by the earthquake and tsunami 8 years ago.  The town of Taro where the cafe is located, lost 4% of their small population in the tsunami and are still recovering from the disaster.  We also did a concert in Otsuchi, similarly devastate in 2011 where a missionary couple are now planting a church in that community.  At the end of our trip we also visited Iwaizumi where a typhoon induced flood caused major damage just two years ago deep in the mountains just off the coast which was also affected by the 2011 disaster.  This community has many still living in emergency housing and struggling to recover from the floods.  Here is a short video on YouTube of our trip.  You can also check the RAM's Voice Facebook page to see albums of our daily activities and ministry while we were in Iwate.

Other Prayer Requests...

As we look towards summer we will begin preparing for the Texas Team who comes yearly to help us with summer school and family camp the last week of July and first week of August.  Rocky will be in the studio a lot more this year with several recording projects.  The kids and Marla will be plugging away at the last 9 weeks of homeschool left in this school year (Wahoo, we are in the home stretch!!!)  Most of all we will continue all our activities with Bible Family Fellowship!  Pray with us for professions of faith and desires to be baptized!  The Lord is sending seekers and new believers in our area and we look forward to watching how He continues to work in and among us!  Please let us hear from you and as always, let me know how we can be praying for you and your family!

With all our Love,
The Aroma Team
