Church Plant Update:

BFF continues to be a wonderful place of worship and fellowship for around 25-30 people each week.  Due to corona virus and job/school changes we have had one family who has not been able to continue to attend, yet we have gained some new regular attenders including several college students and a young single Chinese man.  We continue to meet both in person and broadcast worship online through Zoom for those who can not come to be with us in person, yet most come to be with us person.  Please keep praying for BFF and that we can reach out to the community around us and share the good news of the Gospel with many!

Keeping on keeping on...

The changes that the virus brought to our lives was a bit of a disruption to the norm last year.  We found ourselves doing everything differently that we have until now and changing things up to keep doing ministry.  Here's an overall update on all things in Aroma Ministries.

We are starting a new series on our YouTube channel, Rocky and Marla Show.  Our first show, “Kininarude Show” which is roughly translated “Curious Things Show” was well received.  We use our teens at BFF for filming and editing and their busy lives with school made it difficult to film and produce more until late winter.  We just started a new series called "Marriage Talk: Love yo Love!"  This was not in the plans for the next series, but it became evident to us that it was needed as we have many people around us struggling in their marriages.  So we have changed the plans for the next series, and started this show.  We already have 14 episodes filmed and many of them edited and ready for release.  They will go out every Friday on our YouTube channel.  Please pray that God will use this to impact many marriages and strengthen marriage relationships.  Also pray that some may come to faith in Christ through learning about love and relationships in this show!  This show is only in Japanese with no subtitles so if you can not watch it, please cover it in prayer!  Also click this link to follow  Rocky and Marla Show Instagram account too. Please check these things out and don't forget to subscribe, like follow, comment, etc.!!!

We are also about to begin work on finalizing a Bible Study we have written and getting videos recorded to go with each lesson as a teaching tool.  This Bible Study goes over the basics of the Bible from Old to New Testament and shows God's redemption plan through 12 lessons.  We are excited about getting this Bible study published, please pray for the filming of the teaching videos as we begin those soon!  We are working alongside another ministry who has lots of experience with laying out and publishing Bible studies to get the written material ready for publishing.  If all goes well we may be able to release this in the Fall.

After School Klub finished another year and will begin a new one this week.  The school year in Japan ends in March and starts anew in April.  We lost several students because of changes that corona virus and age and grade level brought, so we decided to launch a campaign to attract new students.  Over 9,000 flyers were included inside a local newspaper that goes out in our area and so far we have had one person sign up to come and check out ASK.  Please pray that the flyer lying in 9,000 homes around us will be seen by the ones God might send to this little ministry and draw to himself through the Bible and English learning opportunity it offers!

BFF meets and worships at "Aroma House" as well as other Bible studies and ministry activities.  Starting last month the building is also being used by a group of Chinese speaking Christians as a place of worship for the Chinese speaking in our area.  Praise God for this ministry opportunity!  Please pray for the members of this group who have a vision of this becoming a Chinese speaking church in Kitakyushu!  We are honored to help them get started in this way!

Marla finished out one year teaching Bible at Hana's private Christian High School and will continue into the next year as a teacher while Hana starts her 2nd year of High School.  We have seen God really at work in the hearts of students in this small school.  During the spring break we had a Spring Bible retreat for two days and the speaker was so good!  In his last message he presented the Gospel so well, and about 15 of the 50 students raise their hands to indicate that they believe in Jesus Christ!  We are excited that some of these young people are coming to BFF and worshipping with us!  Pray for these young people and us as we and other ministers follow up with them!

We are so excited to share that we have received ONE concert invitation for this year, after all concerts and events came to a total halt last year.  We pray that we will begin to see a return to normal in churches being able to hold special events.  May we get a chance once again to share the Gospel and minister through our music!

The Ayatsuka Family...

Our family is doing well!  Praise God we are healthy and have endured this year of so many changes brought on by the global pandemic.

As stated above Marla will be teaching one Bible class again this year while continuing to homeschool Kai, help lead BFF ladies Bible study, ASK Bible and English elementary kids outreach, help with YouTube shows, meet with and disciple women, and write more Bible studies (Lord willing, please pray for that)!

Rocky continues to do a lot of various things like take care of administrative stuff for the ministry, work on YouTube shows, lead BFF, meet and connect with men and local pastors, help with and lead Bible studies, and making music whenever he can find the time!

Hana has been able to go to school in person all the rest of her Sophomore year (HS grade 1 in Japan) and will begin her Junior year this week!  She tried out tennis club last year but found that she longed to go back to swimming, so she is back in swimming classes whenever she has time to get to the pool after school.  She's on a couple of committees at school and also active in the English club.  She adjusted well to going to school and has begun to really love it.

Kai is finishing out his 6th grade year in homeschool and will probably start 7th grade BEFORE summer break if all goes as planned.  He loves tennis and goes to lessons twice a week.  He is also playing piano EVERY CHANCE he gets.  We are prayerfully considering doing 7th and 8th grade in homeschool but Kai really wants to go to America so we may send him to the US to do a homestay and attend 9th grade in America before putting him in Japanese high school in the same way we did with Hana.  Pray with us for the Lord to lead in these decisions for his future.

As always we would love to hear from you.  Please let us know how you and your family are and how we can be praying for you!

With all our Love,
The Aroma Team
