With this sponsored raid you made it possible for a 16 yr old male to be rescued, two traffickers arrested, and the massage parlor he was rescued from was shut down. Now we invite you to be a part of yet another rewarding operation in Europe.
 

In the summer we met an unaccompanied child from Pakistan who had come to Greece. He had escaped a trafficking ring in Turkey, where he was kept in a factory, locked in at night, and worked for 6 months without pay. His life had been threatened, so he escaped at night and fled to Athens for refuge. Now, he faces other risks and dangers as he joins 1,800 unaccompanied minors, mostly boys, who are sleeping rough in the parks and squares. A critical issue facing these boys is the increase in survival sex and sex exploitation in the capital. They’re getting their next meal and sustaining hope of a continued journey by selling themselves to sexual predators. 
 
This is a crucial time where intervention must happen to assure that these boys are safe, respected, and valued. Immediate intervention also helps to get ahead of yet another more horrific sex industry becoming established in Greece, already one of the central hubs for trafficking in Europe. Cross Border Initiatives is committed to collaborating with others to intervene where boys escape war and conflict only to face exploitation and degradation where they have come to feel safe.
