Important information for delegates
The Australian Synchrotron looks forward to welcoming you to Melbourne next week for an exciting 3 days of presentations and engagement with our synchrotron community. The meeting website contains detailed information for delegates on all aspects of the meeting.  The following key information and links may be helpful to you.

Program and Book of Abstracts

  • The online program is the most up-to-date version of the meeting program, including any last minute changes.  A full printed program will also be available in your meeting satchel.
  • The Book of Abstracts is now available for download. This includes all abstracts, listed by presenter surname.
  • You can also create a personalised abstract book, including only items specifically of interest to you, by using the Abstract Index. Simply search for keywords or author names of interest, or filter by session, track or oral/poster, and then export the results to pdf.
  • Detailed information for presenters is also available on the meeting website.

Registration, Posters & Tours desks

  • The Registration and Poster & Tours desks will be open each morning from 8:30 am
  • If you have elected to take a facility tour on Wednesday 25 November, your name tag will have a coloured dot indicating your tour group and time. Please be sure to be at the Poster & Tours desk at the time indicated to meet your tour guide as we are unable to wait for latecomers.
  • Tour participants should familiarise themselves with the safety requirements, in particular the need to wear suitable attire. Please also note that due to the presence of strong magnetic fields in some areas, individuals with some medical devices may not be permitted on the machine tour.

Venue and hotel bus transfers

  • The meeting venue is the National Centre for Synchrotron Science at the Australian Synchrotron, 800 Blackburn Road, Clayton.
  • More information on travel to the Australian Synchrotron from Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine), as well as local transport, is available here.
  • Limited visitor parking is available on site. Please note that it is not possible to turn right into the Australian Synchrotron site when travelling north on Blackburn Road between 7-9.30am.  Northbound arrivals should continue past the synchrotron and perform a U-turn near 770 Blackburn Road to enter our site.
  • Hotel bus transfers are available each morning to the Australian Synchrotron from selected hotels. Please be ready outside your hotel to board the bus at the following times:
    • 8.00 am: Novotel Glen Waverley (n.b. Guests at the Ibis Glen Waverley should make their way to the Novotel, approximately 200 m to the north on Springvale Rd)
    • 8.20 am: Hotel Bruce County
    • 8.30 am: Gateway on Monash
  • Please note that this is not a shuttle service. Only one bus transfer is available to the Australian Synchrotron each morning from the above hotels.
