Exhibit of the Month: Critter Bots

The Science Mill’s Critter Bots exhibit allows students to explore programming with Scratch, a visual programming language developed by MIT Media Lab. Students can create complex programs to control the exhibit’s robotic animals. Watch the animals come alive through movement and sounds using the unique program students design at the exhibit’s interactive touch screens!

Excellent Educator Resources: Got Game?

The National STEM Video Game Challenge will begin their fifth cycle in 2016.  Check out their website now to find out more about the competition before the March 15 registration cycle begins. We all know our students love games, why not help them create and design their own by engaging them in this spirited competition?

“Research suggests that empowering youth to create their own video games promotes learner independence. Moreover, it encourages youth to take ownership over STEM knowledge, rather than viewing it as belonging to others; thereby ushering them into STEM communities of practice."
