2016 Summer Camps- Now Enrolling!

 
Dive into the exciting world of STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math – at the Science Mill’s award-winning summer camps!  Registration is now open for award-winning STEM Career Immersion (SCI) camps for kids entering grades 4-8. All camps introduce and immerse students in fun, hands-on activities that represent real-world careers.

Homeschool Day- February 10th


Join us on Wednesday, February 10 from 10am-4pm for Homeschool Day! We invite homeschool families and groups to join us on the second Wednesday of each month to explore the Science Mill. This month, the Mill proudly hosts two special activities: a herpetologist from Selah, Bamberger Ranch with an interactive live snake presentation at 10:15am and the National Park Service’s Every Kid in a Park program at 2pm and 3pm. The Science Mill will offer Young Explorers Learning Labs for grades K-2.  It’s sure to be a day filled with fun and discovery for all ages! Read more…

Book a Field Trip This Spring!


Did you know… all of our exhibits and learning labs are TEKS aligned, helping your field trip request to the Science Mill get approved without questions asked!

Did you know… we have prepared a pre- and post-lesson including activities for you!  Field trips are always fun and we feel students have the most meaningful field trip experiences when they are able connect their field trip to classroom learning.

Did you know… you can use our Educator Guide to prepare you and your students for a field trip to the Science Mill. The Educator Guide and pre-lesson will help your students make connections to STEM careers and help frame their minds for experiencing the Science Mill’s unique exhibits.

Exhibit of the Month: Be a Molecular Detective


The Science Mill’s Be a Molecular Detective exhibit allows students to solve a puzzle of DNA strands to discover the contaminate in their avatar. Your students will understand how DNA sequencing works and how scientists are using super-fast computers to unlock the genetic code of living organisms!
