Join us for this FREE Open House Event


Do you want to help slow the spread of harmful invasive species and reduce their environmental and economic impacts?

The Invasive Species Centre (ISC) and Ontario Invasive Plant Council (OIPC) are hosting three Open House events in northern and southern Ontario (Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, Georgetown). Please join us to learn about the new EDRR Network project, how to become a “Citizen Scientist”, and what you can do to assist in the early detection and control of invasive species in your community.

What to Expect:
  • An overview of the Invasive Species Centre and Ontario Invasive Plant Council, and the new Early Detection & Rapid Response Network project.
  • Invasive Species Review – what are they and why are they an issue.
  • Learn about the roles of the “Citizen Scientist” and connect with other interested participants.
  • Interactive training stations to learn how to identify your region's top invaders as well as how to report and track invasive species using EDDMapS Ontario.
  • Receive a take-home “Citizen Scientist” training package.
