Frankfurt 2019

We are pleased to announce that Livres Canada Books has received a second invitation to be Guest of Honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair, this time for 2019, and that the Livres Canada Books Board of Directors has renewed the Frankfurt Guest of Honour project as a result of this invitation. The sub-committee for this project includes Caroline Fortin (Chair), Gillian Fizet, Lynn Fisher, Louis-Frédéric Gaudet, Antoine Tanguay, Bob Dees, and François Charette. The project will be supported by consultant Isabelle Demers.

We will keep you informed on the feasibility of this promising project for the Canadian book industry.

International Ebook Lending Webinar – Sign-up now!

Registration is now open for our professional development webinar, International Ebook Lending: Selling Canadian Content to International Libraries. The webinar will be offered in English on February 17, 2016 and in French on February 18, 2016. The English webinar will be presented by Tricia McCraney, and is organized in collaboration with eBOUND Canada. The French webinar will be presented by Jean-François Cusson from Bibliopresto.ca.

Mentoring Program – USA

Guidelines for the Mentoring Program - USA will be available on our website this week. Designed for new exporters, the program provides guidance on exporting Canadian books to the USA and one-on-one discussions with the consultant, Michael Johnson. Eligible publishers will attend workshops on marketing for the US market and will receive an evaluation of their lists in Toronto on February 29th and March 1st, 2016.
 
The deadline for applications is February 19th. Spots are limited.

Rights Canada advertises available foreign rights for Canadian titles to the international community of rights managers, publishers, and literary agents. EXHIBIT ON THE CANADA STAND AT THE 2016 FRANKFURT BOOK FAIR

Our invitation to exhibit on the Canada Stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair (October 19 to 23) has been released. BolognaRagazzi Award – Special Category
Exhibitors at the 2016 Bologna Children’s Book Fair are invited to submit titles published in the last five years to be considered for the Bologna Ragazzi Award. This year’s special category is Disability. The 2016 Bologna Children’s Book Fair is a Fair is also pleased to announce its 5th BolognaRagazzi Digital Award, which highlights innovation and excellence in children's digital publishing on a global level.
