CANADIAN STUDIES COLLECTION and rights Canada catalogue are in production

Production is currently underway for two of Livres Canada Books’ collective publications! Rights Canada has grown with 74 unique titles from 28 Canadian publishers to be included in the spring 2015 edition. The 2015 Canadian Studies Collection features 26 publishers with 83 titles on Canadian subjects to be promoted to Canadian Studies associations worldwide. A big thank you to all who contributed their titles!

Livres Canada Books is organising a combined shipment to the 2015 Bologna Children’s Book Fair for publishers with shipments weighing less than 100 kg exclusively through Panalpina’s Toronto warehouse only. The deadline to send your shipment to Panalpina Toronto is March 2, 2015.

FRANKFURT BOOK FAIR: RESERVE YOUR SPACE TODAY!

There are still spots available on the Canada Stand at the 2015 Frankfurt Book Fair. Prices start at $1,900 for the pied-à-terre option and $3,325 for a 2 × 2 m stand. Space is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis; book early for the best spot.

REGISTRATION FOR BEIJING IS NOW OPEN 

Registration for the Canada Stand at the 2015 Beijing International Book Fair (August 26 - 30) is now open. Livres Canada Books supports publishers on the Stand by providing an interpreter and promotional tools, including a Mandarin-English directory of Canadian exhibitors at the Fair and the Rights Canada catalogue. The exhibitor package also includes the services of a Chinese publishing advisor who will provide publishers with an analysis of the potential of their titles for the Chinese market, assistance in scheduling meetings with Chinese colleagues before the fair, and a Mandarin translation of the “sell sheets” for two titles.
 
A pay-per-title option is available for publishers who can’t attend the fair in person. The deadline to register is Monday, March 30, 2015.

The Digital Book Awards recognise innovation and excellence in all aspects of digital book publishing, and Canadian publishers are among the best! Kids Can Press’s award-winning picture book Virginia Wolf, written by Kyo Maclear and illustrated by Isabelle Arsenault, was named Best Fixed Format/Enhanced Ebook for Children. Second Story Press was a finalist in the Flowable Ebook: Children category for their book, Severn Suzuki and the Day She Silenced the World, written by Janey Wilson and produced by Laura Brady.

Film rights sold for Éditions Sylvain Harvey’s the legend of lezardo da vinci

Éditions Sylvain Harvey has announced the acquisition of international film rights for the first two volumes of the series The Legend of LEZARDO DA VINCI (Daniel L. Moisan) by the production house Vélocité International. Fascinated by the historical universe developed by the author and the multiplatform opportunities posed by the LEZARDO DA VINCI series, the production company will adapt the work to the screen.
