Bologna Children’s Book Fair is nearly full with only a few spaces left. Please note that the fair will take place from April 3 to 7. Space is booked on a first-come, first-served basis. BolognaRagazzi Award
The
BolognaRagazzi Award traditionally comprises four categories: Fiction, Non-Fiction, New Horizons (dedicated to books from countries where children’s publishing is still developing) and Opera Prima (a prize for first-time authors and illustrators). Exhibitors at the 2017
Bologna Children’s Book Fair are invited to submit titles published in the last ten years. The 2017 Bologna Children’s Book Fair edition will dedicate a special Award to the “Art” theme: this competition is reserved for works dealing with the theme of art (picture books, monographs about artists, activity books).
The 2017 Bologna Children’s Book Fair is also pleased to announce its
BolognaRagazzi Digital Award, which highlights innovation and excellence in children's digital publishing on a global level. The Award is designed to identify and promote the latest trends and developments in digital publishing. Participation is free and open to all publishers and developers of apps for children aged 2 to 15 years-old. Works can be submitted in any language or platform to either to the Fiction or Non-Fiction categories.
The deadline to submit your books for consideration to these awards is January 29

BOP - Children's Publisher of the Year Prize
The
Bologna Best Children’s Publisher of the Year Prize – BOP – acknowledges the most significant publishers in each of the six areas of the world: Africa, Central and South America, North America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. Established by Bologna Children’s Book Fair in partnership with AIE - Italian Publishers Association - the prize is awarded to those publishers who have most distinguished themselves for their creative and publishing excellence over the year, showing originality as well as professional and intellectual skills. The official awards ceremony on April 3
rd, 2017 will afford widespread visibility in the print press and on social networks. The winning publishers will also have a dedicated showcase inside the Book Fair. Nominations must be from publishing houses that have especially distinguished themselves during 2016, and shall not include winners of the Bologna Best Children’s Publisher Prize for 2014, 2015 or 2016. The deadline for nominations is January 16
th, 2017.
