Livres Canada Books is seeking a consultant

Subject to the receipt of requested funding support, Livres Canada Books is seeking a Consultant, working in collaboration with Livres Canada Books staff and event Advisory Committee, to provide programming development, event planning recommendations, and coordination for the bilingual export event called the Export Exchange. The Export Exchange will be a one-day destination event for Canadian publishers who wish to build increased capacity in rights and export sales and benefit from global strategic business opportunities. The Export Exchange will encourage French- and English-language publishers, of all sectors and of all sizes, to share information and talk about ideas for collaboration in response to the new realities of exporting books and publishing for global markets.

SUMMER HOURS IN EFFECT

Starting Friday, June 5, 2015, Livres Canada Books’ offices will close at 1 p.m. on Fridays. The summer schedule runs until Friday, August 28. Regular hours resume in September. We wish you all a great summer!

CANADIAN BOOKS At the Seoul International Book Fair 

21 publishers have sent 255 books to the 2015 Seoul International Book Fair (June 17-21, 2015). The books were collected and shipped by the Canadian Embassy in South Korea and Livres Canada Books. The Embassy of Canada in Seoul participates in the Seoul International Book Fair to promote Canadian books to the Korean publishing industry. A national pavilion displaying Canadian titles will be set up to display the books sent by publishers. This initiative is free to Canadian publishers and offers publishers a chance to gain international exposure. Thanks to the Embassy of Canada in Seoul for their support of this long-standing initiative.

2015-2016 FRMAP and MENTORING APPLICATIONS

We thank all publishers who have submitted applications to the FRMAP and Mentoring - Funding Support programs for 2015-2016. Publishers will be advised in the coming weeks of their eligibility status.
 

2015-2016 FRMAP Claim and Activity Report forms 

2015-2016 FRMAP Claim and Activity Report forms are available on our website. Important details to note:

• We consider your claim to be submitted on time if the printed and signed version of the claim form and all required documents are sent to Livres Canada Books by mail or courier, and are postmarked no later than 30 calendar days after the event or export sales trip for which the claim is made. In the event where the claim is sent by email or facsimile, it must be received by Livres Canada Books no later than 30 calendar days after the event or export sales trip for which the claim is made.
• Any claim submitted to Livres Canada Books after the event has taken place and which has not been pre-approved by Livres Canada Books, even if the event is listed on the pre-approved events, will not be eligible for a FRMAP contribution.
