Building on more than seven years of publishing experience in South and North America, including work for a Canadian children’s publisher and Fondo de Cultura Economica, Piedad will present an overview of the market, information on selling rights into Mexico, and case studies of successes and failures in translation. Cost is $50 per participant. Register here.

WATCH A RECORDING OF OUR WEBINAR ON EXPORTING TO FINLAND

In September 2014, we presented a webinar on exporting to Finland, hosted by Dr. Iris Schwanck, Director of the Finnish Literature Exchange. Finland was the 2014 Frankfurt Book Fair Guest of Honour and is a strong market, with a culture of reading and writing and trade sales that amount to around $500 million euros.

FRENCH MARKET GUIDE CONSULTANT

We are pleased to announce that we will once again be working with consultant Marie-Anne Lambert on the production of two market guides on France. The first guide will outline the changes in the market since our last guide on France in 2011. The second guide will focus on sales and distribution opportunities in France for Canadian publishers. Both guides will be available in March 2015.

Marie-Anne Lambert, publishing consultant, has over twenty-years of publishing experience. She was the editorial director for several international publishing groups, including Wolters Kluwer. She has co-published with many Canadian publishers and assisted Canadian publishers with their European export strategies. She also gives training and professional development for a number of French publishers at ASFORED, the training center for the Syndicat national de l’édition en France, and she leads Publistorming, her publishing consultant firm, launched in 2007.
