Executive Director, François Charette will represent Livres Canada Books at the Annual General Meeting of the Association of Canadian Publishers (ACP), in Saint-John’s, Newfoundland on June 11-12.


Livres Canada Books has hired Temple Scott Associates, a public relations and government relations firm, to assist in presenting and to advance the Frankfurt 2017 project to federal government decision-makers. With this engagement, we hope to be in a position to respond to the invitation from the Frankfurt Book Fair before the end of June. Stay tuned for more information…


The RECF (Regroupement des éditeurs canadiens-français) was founded in 1989 and this year is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The RECF's mandate is to enable francophone publishers working outside of Québec, to carry out joint activities with a focus on marketing, promotion, representation and training. Happy birthday!

REGISTRATION for THE FALL 2014 Rights Canada Catalogue now open

List your titles in the Fall 2014 Rights Canada catalogue and multiply impact and discoverability. Promote your titles to a network of over 10,000 publishers, rights managers and literary agents. The Livres Canada Books Rights Canada catalogue connects you with buyers worldwide. Register before Friday, June 6.
As always, each title listing includes bibliographic data such as the ISBN for print and digital formats, language, rights available, descriptions, pricing and formats that make it easy for interested buyers to learn more about your book and authors.
In addition to an extensive email campaign, Livres Canada Books promotes your titles through social media following the publication of the catalogue and the print edition is distributed to attendees at the Beijing International Book Fair and the Frankfurt Book Fair.
Congrats to Rocky Mountain Books for winning our Rights Canada promotion contest. Rocky Mountain Books won a free listing in the Fall 2014 Rights Canada catalogue!

Eighteen Canadian publishers have sent 209 books to the 2014 Seoul International Book Fair (June 18-22, 2014). The books were collected and shipped by the Canadian Embassy in South Korea and Livres Canada Books. The Embassy of Canada in Seoul participates in the Seoul International Book Fair to promote Canadian books to the Korean publishing industry. A national pavilion (C37) displaying Canadian titles will be set up to display the books sent by publishers. This initiative is free to Canadian publishers and offers publishers a chance to gain international exposure. Thanks to the Embassy of Canada in Seoul for their support of this long-standing initiative.

The Canada Stand is rapidly filling up for the 2014 Frankfurt Book Fair but there is one spot still available. Space is allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Book early for the best spot.

We thank all publishers who have submitted applications to the FRMAP and Mentoring - Funding Support programs for 2014-15. Publishers will be advised in the coming weeks of their eligibility status.
2014-2015 FRMAP Claim and Activity Report forms are available on our website.
Important details to note:
  • We consider your claim to be submitted on time if the printed and signed version of the claim form and all required documents are sent to Livres Canada Books by mail or courier, and are postmarked no later than thirty (30) calendar days after the event or export sales trip for which the claim is made. In the event where the claim is sent by email or facsimile, it must be received by Livres Canada Books no later than thirty (30) calendar days after the event or export sales trip for which the claim is made.
  • Any claim submitted to Livres Canada Books after the event has taken place and which has not been pre-approved by Livres Canada Books, even if the event is listed on the pre-approved events, will not be eligible for a FRMAP contribution.
