At the vestry meeting in September, it was unanimously voted to give the Canterbury room a new name and purpose. It will now be called the Canterbury Room for Outreach and Ministry. It is going to be cleaned and eventually have new windows installed and painted. The room will be easier access for those who have mobility problems when coming for monthly haircuts and hygiene item give away.
But the biggest news is: starting Friday, November 1, Manna from 7 will be distributing food for the weekend from the Canterbury Room! Have a couple hours on a Friday and want to volunteer? See Sandy Bush or Deby Veach.

Last year as a Servicepalooza project, we collected underwear for the children at 14th and Chestnut Community Center. Until October 27th, we are again collecting underwear in all sizes for both boys and girls with our church neighbors. Please no briefs for the boys, only boxer underwear. The Center serves 50+ children a day for after school snacks and dinner according to director Bill Felts. They can also use monetary donations to help purchase food for the kids. There will be envelopes at both tables for donations.

TIME TO START THINKING ABOUT our 3rd annual COOKIE SALE at Miracle on 7th Street  festival downtown, December 6-7. It’s not too early to start baking, because many kinds of cookies and doughs freeze beautifully. We’re asking for cookies about 3” in diameter, and not too gooey/fragile to be packed in a box with other cookies. Freezer space is available if you need it. More information to come, but you can ask John Salamone, Anne Buchanan, Kim Wagley, Peggy Allen, and Deby Veach for info.
Blessing Box: Interested in helping with the Blessing Box? See Sandy Bush
or Deby Veach after the service to see what you could bring or donate.  Some
suggested items are Vienna sausages, potted meats, canned fruit, ready to eat
soups, canned pasta, and canned vegetables. Pop top lids are preferred. We also
need volunteers to fill the box during the week.
Quarters for Clean Clothes Ministry launders clothes for those in need and the homeless every Wednesday. Donation boxes for quarters are on the bulletin tables in the church.
