News and announcements from the Autism Society of Central Texas

There are lots of things we love this month! From our amazing volunteers who run support groups, to books and films about autism, there are lots of things to appreciate! Have you seen "Autism In Love" yet? It's not too late if you have HBO! How about reading "Neurotribes" by Steve Silberman?  We also love weighted blankets, quiet restaurants, special ed teachers, therapists, the amazing families and individuals we support, and all of our wonderful volunteers! Pictured above are some of our volunteers that lead our many support groups. Between them, they plan everything from playdates for preschoolers, to happy hours for adults, to supporting parents of adults with disabilities. What's not to love?

Friends & Family Happy Hour This Thursday!
We hope to see you at Friends & Family Happy Hour this Thursday! Ten Thousand Villages is donating a percentage of purchases to us between 5-8 pm, then at 8 pm we're heading over to Pinthouse Pizza, which is right next door! Come and go as you wish, no need to stay the entire time!

Save The Date! Amplify Austin Party, March 8th!
We're so excited about our Amplify Austin kick off party! We're partnering with local nonprofits for our kick off, and the party is being co-produced by Austin Film Society and Leap To Success! The party will be held at Austin Public. Sponsors already include Whole Foods, Heineken, Dos Equis, and Strongbow Cider. What's Amplify Austin? It's a 24 hour fundraising event for local nonprofits. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to fund our swim program to promote water safety, in partnership with Nitro Swim & Colin's Hope, so we can offer free classes to help individuals with autism learn water safety skills.
