Connections CREATED! Read Our AST October Recap

October was an extremely busy month for us! We started with Board President Rany Thommen, representing AST at the Music Knows No Boundaries benefit in Houston, then had riders participate in Bike to the Beach, followed by AutFest Texas! We were all over Texas creating connections and raising funds for the Texas Autism community!

We held two free virtual education events including our first education event in Spanish with Dr. Berenice De La Cruz, an AST Board Member! Berenice also volunteered in San Antonio this month at the Art For Autism event! Thanks, Berenice! We had many support and social groups across the state, including the first meeting of our new Rio Grande Valley Group! Thank you to all of our long term and new volunteers who help us create connections across Texas!

This month, our Navigating Autism team received this response after providing some guidance on a challenging co-occurring mental health & Autism issue, “This gives me hope.” Read more about what we did this October here!

Check out our groups around the state! We have online regional community groups, as well as support and recreation groups!

This group is for parents, caregivers, local professionals, and autistic individuals to provide support to one another, to build a solid network in their local area, and provide education and support to members of the Autism community. Come to ask questions and find answers as well as share successes and struggles.

This group meets the Second Saturday of every month, 10-11AM, at Trinity Episcopal Church (5010 N.Main Street, Baytown, TX 77521).
