Join us February 23rd, 2023 at noon on Facebook Live for our upcoming Seminars Across The Spectrum presentation, "Challenging Behavior in Autism", presented by Hannah MacNaul, Ph.D., BCBA-D, LBA, LSSP with the UTSA Severe Behavior Lab. This presentation will focus on what we know, what we don't know, and what caregivers should be aware of when it comes to challenging behavior.
Seminars Across The Spectrum is our ongoing lecture series that spotlights important Autism related issues and topics to help educate the general public as well as provide support to members of the Autism community. Each presentation features a different guest lecturer or lecturers who has direct experience in a field related to their particular topic.
Save The Date! Texas Autism Advocacy Day is April 4th
Save the date! April 4th, join Autism Society of Texas and other nonprofit groups, stakeholders, parents, and concerned advocates, as we spend the morning discussing legislative issues that impact individuals with Autism, and their families.
After lunch, we will visit with legislators and their staff.
No advocacy experience is required and we would love to have as many attendees as possible! During legislative visits, if you are not comfortable communicating with legislators or their staff we will assign you to a group with an appointed spokesperson. Registration opens later this month! Connections CREATED! Read Our AST January Recap
We kicked off January with two new in-person parent support groups in Central Austin and Georgetown as well as two free education events, one in English and one in Spanish!
We brought on two new AST team members, Mandy Kendall and Alicia Henderson.
New In-Person Parent Groups: Amarillo & College Station View groups around the state here. We have 2 new in-person groups starting!
Next Friday, February 10th at 12 noon, Bryan-College Station area parents & caregivers are invited to join us for our new Bryan-College Station Connections Group which will meet at Stephen C Beachy Central Park in College Station. RSVP to the College Station Group now!
This group is facilitated by Liz Rodriguez, BCBA, from Galliant Autism Care.
Our new Amarillo/West Texas Parent & Caregiver Connections Group starts this month as well on Wednesday, February 22nd at 10 AM and meets at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Amarillo. RSVP to the Amarillo group here!
