CEDA and J2G Host Another Successful Regional Development Tour

On August 2, Community and Economic Development Associates (CEDA) and Journey to Growth (J2G) hosted the 3rd annual Regional Development Tour of southeastern Minnesota.  Each year, the Tour brings together site selectors, developers, and community representatives from around the region to visit a selection of Southeastern Minnesota communities and available development properties.  On the Tour, CEDA staff members and community representatives provide informational presentations about business and quality of life opportunities in their respective communities. Dairyland Power is a co-sponsor of the event.
“We feel the Tour continues to be a great opportunity to provide first-hand information about our communities in a fun environment that promotes networking and relationship building,” said CEDA President/CEO Ron Zeigler.

Bayfield County Becomes Wisconsin's First
Telecommuter Forward! Designated Community

Wisconsin continues to emphasize the importance of expanding broadband to rural areas by designating Bayfield County as its first Telecommuter Forward! Community. Telecommuter Forward! recognizes communities where broadband speeds, local support and co-working space combine to create ideal remote working environments.
“Bayfield County is the model for Telecommuter Forward!  The key stakeholders in Bayfield County actively engage in promoting their community as a great place to live, work, play and raise a family, while promoting robust broadband connectivity that makes telecommuting possible,” Wisconsin State Telecommunications Association’s Executive Director Bill Esbeck said.
Telecommuter Forward! engages employers and broadband providers to develop telecommuter-capable broadband packages and to promote telecommuter-friendly workspaces.
