Teens & Young Adults

The Teen Advisory Board is an opportunity where teens in the community can make their voice heard by providing advice and insight that would make the Cybrarium a more teen-friendly place and help the community. Plus, it’s a fun, meaningful way to earn some service hours.

Adult Programs

Adults can learn, craft, and improve their lives during February's programs. All events are free and open to the public. Be sure to check for registration requirements, as spots may be limited.

Technology Classes

The Cybrarium offers a variety of technology and computer classes each month. Most classes are targeted for adults, ages 18 and above. See below to learn more about the technology classes and presentations offered this February.

Community Happenings

The Cybrarium continues to host the Lamplighters Writing Group. The Lamplighters are a group of talented and aspiring writers with a flexible and dedicated membership.

Meetings are held in the First Floor Meeting Room on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month from 4:00-6:00 PM.

February 9

Stop by and say hello at the Cybrarium's Downtown Farmer's Market table. We won't have food, but we will have information about upcoming events and a take-and-make craft kit.

Cybrarium Round-up

The round-up covers all that you missed since our last newsletter and provides updates about Cybrarium services. This month we look back at January's programs:
Our Lil' Learners sparked winter wonder with winter-themed books in January. Here, they crafted owl popsicle-stick pictures after they were inspired by reading Little Owl's Snow by Divya Srinivasan.
Sushi for dessert? When it's candy sushi, count us in! This January, the Anime and Manga Club used Fruit Roll Ups, Rice Krispies Treats, Swedish fish, and gummy bear candies to make Candy Sushi. Yum!
Our STEAM Saturdays explored forces and movement by making kites.
Steam Saturdays participants proved they were up to this engineering challenge when they built their own snowball catapults.
Little Makers participants used cotton swabs to make snowman art.
Adult programs offered a little for everyone in January. Participants tapped into their inner artists during a painting class. Others got their game on during Board Game Night. Several participants learned computer basics in one of our technology classes.

Staff Pick: Book Recommendation

The Witch's Heart

Angrboda’s story begins where most witches' tales end: with a burning. A punishment from Odin for refusing to provide him with knowledge of the future, the fire leaves Angrboda injured and powerless, and she flees into the farthest reaches of a remote forest. There she is found by a man who reveals himself to be Loki, and her initial distrust of him transforms into a deep and abiding love.   Their union produces three unusual children, each with a secret destiny, who Angrboda is keen to raise at the edge of the world, safely hidden from Odin’s all-seeing eye. But as Angrboda slowly recovers her prophetic powers, she learns that her blissful life—and possibly all of existence—is in danger.   With help from the fierce huntress Skadi, with whom she shares a growing bond, Angrboda must choose whether she’ll accept the fate that she’s foreseen for her beloved family...or rise to remake their future. From the most ancient of tales this novel forges a story of love, loss, and hope for the modern age.
