BC Athletics recognizes athletes who have met set crest award provincial standards in at least three JD approved track and field events. All of these athletes should be very proud of their results and their desire to compete in multiple events! We encourage all JD families to read further about the JD crest program award structure and other award opportunities designed by BC Athletics.

Athlete Spotlight: Ethan Peregrym
Age: 13
Discipline: Middle Distance
Coach: Sean Lehmann
Why did you become involved in track and field?
I got a pamphlet that told me about the club and asked if I wanted to join. I thought it looked interesting so I joined. Since then I have really enjoyed it.
What events do you enjoy?
I like anything from 1,500m to 10,000m.
What is your greatest accomplishment/s?
My biggest accomplishment is finishing third at high school provincials in the 3,000m and setting a big personal best of 9:55.21 at the same time. Another accomplishment is finishing in the top quarter of the high school cross country provincials last year as a grade 8 competing against grade 9's and 10's.
A few words from Coach Sean Lehmann:
"Ethan is a very hard worker and extremely dedicated to his training. He puts in lots of time on his own, which is necessary to be a strong distance runner. He runs well above his age level and is a great addition to the group."
