SADS Annual Meeting: Mindfulness for the Dental Practitioner
Dr. Sally Safa (periodontist) will delve into the science behind stress and the difference between acute and chronic stress and the effects on the body and brain. The difference between a Stress Response versus a Stress Reaction will be discussed – what they mean, and which one is better.

The science backing Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) will be presented including tools taught in MBSR that can help dentists combat day to day stress in both their personal and professional lives.

CADS Annual Meeting: Our Chamfered Psyche: The Mental Dental Connection
Anxiety, pain, depression, burnout. Dentistry can be difficult and take a toll. Studies show us that dental professionals experience a high incidence of mental illness. Additionally, many dental professionals don’t clearly understand the mental health conditions that our patients present with, which red flags to watch for or what to do/how to intervene.

Presented in Dr. Joshua Austin’s trademark comedic style, this course explores strategies for working together to improve mental health so we can be our best.

NEXT FRIDAY, 11/13/20
NADS Annual Meeting: The Dental-Medical Connection: Interdisciplinary Communication and the Whole-Patient Approach to Caring for Our Patient
This course offers a semi-interactive, virtual lecture focusing on the knowledge, communication, and interaction necessary with our medical colleagues in order to address some common diagnoses and comorbidities of our patients.  The overall goal is to bring about a higher level of medical conscientiousness and thus a higher level of overall patient care. Presented by Dr. Ryan Swigert.

In 2021, we're going to build on that success and create an even better experience for you. If there is an association that knows how to put on a first-rate virtual meeting, it's your Arizona Dental Association.
