President's Message

Greetings, Baltimore Road Runners Club!

Thank You!

Dateline, February 5, 2017, Cromwell Valley Park, Baltimore, Maryland.  On this Super Bowl Sunday, we had 220 runners complete our 8 mile race!  While records are not kept for every criteria, we believe this to be the largest single track trail run ever held in the greater Baltimore area!   Congratulations!

Our club is committed to trail running, in fact BRRC is essential to the Baltimore trail running community.  So many of us are making trail running a destination event,
as there are not many places to hold true single track trail runs in the Baltimore beltway area.  We are out to serve our community with more of those great trail running experiences like night runs, and ultrarunning trail runs like our Gunpowder Keg 25k/50k on Saturday, April 29th.  Cromwell may well fit into those plans.

To make our Super Bowl run possible, we enjoyed the hospitality, including the essential parking, road use, and the gracious donation of our grand prizes from our partners, the good people at TALMAR.    While TALMAR is not a running organization, the underlying purpose is strikingly like ours at BRRC, “TALMAR is dedicated to the mission of enhancing health for all people of all ages and abilities…….for their health and well-being.”  Our “Super” volunteering efforts and time, our entry fees, and our significant and freely given additional donations, allowed us to more than cover our out of pocket costs for the run, as well as make a donation of $1500 to TALMAR.  I had the distinct privilege of presenting that donation, and receiving a heartfelt hug and appreciation, that I pass on to you here.  This job can be very gratifying!  Thanks, again.
