Happy New Year!

President's Message

I am excited to serve as President of BRRC for the next year.  Baltimore Road Runners Club is an excellent organization with a wonderful history.  At the same time, we are a club embracing new technologies and offering opportunities for members new to running.  Over the years, many dedicated runners have been members and leaders of the club.  As we continue to grow our membership, I am pleased that a mix of new and longtime members are active in BRRC.

One of the great strengths of BRRC is the variety of interesting races and distances we offer each year.  So, as a reminder, we are kicking off 2014 with our race Father Time Frolic, to be held at 9:00 am tomorrow morning, January 1, 2014.  This is a fun predicted-time race, a great way to start a new year, so leave your watch at home.  Perhaps you'll return with a new one!  Registration will be held starting at 8:15 am.  I hope to see you there.

As I start my term, I would like to acknowledge the work of our past President, Robin Goodwin.  During Robin's tenure, among other accomplishments, the club has seen  impressive expansion of our training programs and the introduction of our new website and our new membership system.  At the same time, Robin has continued her strong commitment to race directing and training program coaching.  She is a tireless volunteer.

I am very excited to be working with an excellent Board, including Vice President Brian Flowers, Treasurer (and Past-President) Christy St. Clair, Secretary Lori Guenthner, and Delegates
Christian Creutzer, Maureen Hall, Jeannette Lussi, Johnny Lyons, Bob McCubbin, Rob Santoni, and Betsy Schwartz.  Together with our Race Directors and Training Program Coaches, we look forward to serving the BRRC membership this year with our many club races, group runs, and training programs.

As always, the success of BRRC is dependent on its volunteers and so I would like to encourage you to join us in 2014 for some of the many volunteer opportunities the club offers.  If you would like to volunteer, please let us know.

I am committed to helping BRRC serve the needs and interests of all of its members.  If you have a suggestion for the club, whether it is how to do something better, or a new idea, or an observation about club activities, please let me know.  Heck, even if you want to give me a hard time about passing me in a recent race, email me.

Thank you for being a part of  BRRC.  I look forward to interacting with you in the New Year.

If you have not yet renewed your membership for 2014, you may do so here.
