NCR Marathon approaching!
With the arrival of Thanksgiving weekend comes the 26th Anniversary of our signature event, the NCR Trail Marathon and Two Person Relay on Saturday, November 28. The races take off at 8:30AM beginning and ending at Sparks Elementary School.
Online registration closes on November 20 and very limited spots remain for the relay. You can register for both events on RaceIt. Packet pickup will be held Wednesday, November 25 from 1-7PM and on that following Friday from 11AM-6PM at Charm City Run in Timonium (map). As always, BRRC will also offer race-day packet pickup.
Excellent volunteer opportunities still remain. New this year: volunteers will receive the same premium that runners receive. The Baltimore Road Runners Club and the NCR Trail Marathon successes are dependent on its volunteers. Please contact Brian Flowers if you would like to contribute.
Complete information can be found at ncrtrailmarathon.com.
Master's Race and Social
Join us to kick off the holiday season! The annual Master's Race is a 5K road race challenge for the Masters set. All runners over the age of 40 are invited to participate. After the race, join your fellow competitors, friends and volunteers at 10:30 for a BRRC Buffet Brunch at the Ashland Cafe (map), 3 miles south from Pulse.
Race day is December 6 and thanks to the club, the cost of brunch is $6 per person.
Want to sleep in? Don't want to run? Suffer from Runner's Appetite and a karaoke desire to sing holiday songs? No problem--come for food and fun (just kidding about the karaoke!). Please, just let us know if you plan to join us - email Christy St.Clair. Full information can be found on brrc.com.
What's the best part about Thanksgiving?
We'll post the results next month!
GPS Awards - General Membership Meeting
The annual BRRC General Membership Meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 8 at the Perry Hall Branch of the Baltimore County Public Library (map). Pizza will be arriving at 6:00 with the meeting convening at 6:30PM.
We will be present Grand Prix Series Awards, recognize our race directors, recognize key volunteers, conduct the election for 2016 club officers and directors, and vote on proposed bylaw amendments. Adoption of changes to the club's bylaws requires a two-thirds vote at the meeting. If you have an additional order of business you would like us to consider at the meeting, please let us know.
Any persons interested in serving on the 2016 board can email the Board Nomination Committee Chair, Jim Archibald. The committee is looking to get a list of interested parties together to make the election process more informed this year. Please contact the committee no later than November 18 so that an official ballot can be produced.
All members are encouraged to attend, particularly our GPS Series Finishers. Keep in mind, you will receive a premium if you completed the series even if you did not place in your age group.
Membership Renewal Begins 12/1
BRRC converted to a calendar year membership back in 2014. This means that all membership renewals for next year will have an effective date of January 1 and that all current memberships will expire at the end of 2015.
We will open the renewal process beginning on or around December 1. Members will then have the opportunity to renew, and be eligible for next year's Grand Prix Series, until January 31, 2016.
Watch BRRC.com for an announcement of the opening of the renewal period. In addition, an email reminder will be sent.
