Blessing in the Battle
We were singing a song in worship at church the other night and I was struck by one particular verse in the song:

“Turning tragedy to triumph
Turning agony to praise
There is blessing in the battle
So take heart and stand amazed”
(From ‘Rejoice’ by Dustin Kensrue)

I know full well that God blesses us even in the difficulties of life. God has shown me that truth in my own life as well as in the lives over many others. There are entire biographies written about Christian believers who have been blessed by God while walking through the fire. The lives of Joni Earickson Tada, Corrie Ten Boom, and Chuck Colson all reveal this truth, to name just a few.

Men's Ministry Meeting Update

We had about 50 guys there to learn from Herb Reese of New Commandment about the life changing work men's ministry can become. I don't think there was a man in the room that isn't going back to his church to get more involved or start a ministry by men and for men.

Quotes from the meeting:

"This is exactly what our church needs and was an answer to prayer. I didn't even sign up for this meeting, my wife signed me up, but God knew I needed it."
~ Pastor John

"We have a great men's ministry but can always do better, so I got a lot out of the meeting"
~ A Spokane Valley ministry leader

This meeting was intended to not only teach/train a ministry model, but to cast vision for the need. Our next step is to convene a strategy group of ministry leaders to mobilize men's ministry in churches.
