Greetings from Aillio

We hope everyone is well out there. For the past couple of months, our main creative focus has been on development of the AiO -- and there will be a lot to say about what we've been up to in our next newsletter, coming soon.

But we'd like to use this particular newsletter to share with you a unique learning opportunity for Bullet owners.

CoffeeMind bridges the gap between abstract coffee science and practical business concerns. They do so by engaging in -- and uncovering synergy between -- activities related to coffee education, consulting, and research.

In other words, they apply scientific methodology to address real-world coffee problems.

In that spirit, on July 6th, CoffeeMind's Morten Münchow will putting together an all-day online SCA Roasting Foundation course for Bullet owners. Morten has taught coffee roasting at The London School of Coffee since 2007, and has also regularly done consultation work for roasteries of all sizes, all over the world. This is in addition to conducting research on cappuccino foam chemistry, roast defects, water quality, processing methods, fermentation starter cultures, sensory science, behavioral economics of consumer preferences, focus groups, and roast degree preferences.

Since 2013, Morten has also been working with the SCA to improve their roasting curriculum, leaving a trail of valuable scientific research papers in his wake. Needless to say, we're thrilled to see educators taking advantage of the Bullet's versatility to develop coffee roasting courses specifically for people like... us.

That's why Steffen Lav, the preorder customer-turned-director of Aillio Europe, a man who can service your Bullet while blindfolded, will be backing Morten up, answering any technical questions you may have about the machine itself.

Course Contents and SCA Certification

The course will not be diving deep into scientific theory. It will instead use scientific theory as a lens to keep the discussion focused on what matters: roasting better coffee.

The course is also of particular interest to those looking to get their feet wet in the world of professional roasting, as you can follow it up with an SCA Roasting Foundation online written exam to acquire the corresponding certificate.
